Fees and payment arrangements depend on each trainer's experience, the type of training required and the service location. Believe it or not, rates may vary anywhere from $15.00 an hour to $400.00 an hour or more. Cheaper is not necessarily better. A more expensive trainer with a lot of experience may be able to handle a complex problem more quickly.
Should I "shop around" for the cheapest dog trainer I can find?
In general you should not base your decision merely on the trainer's fees.
With dog training, as with other products and services, you often get what you pay for. Corporate pet stores and trainers with very little experience may offer you lower fees, however you may need to spend much more in the long run.
